WHAT IS BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS?
Big Brothers Big Sisters Across Canada: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is a Federation comprised of 111 member agencies servicing more than 1000 communities across the country. Each Big Brother/Big Sister agency provides direct service to children by matching adults and children in quality mentoring relationships. Our agency staff members are experts at screening volunteers and matching them with a child having similar interests.
The national organization provides services and programs to our member agencies to assist them with their hands-on work with parents, children, and volunteers. Ranging from staff training workshops to our leading Child Safety Program, BBBSC works diligently to ensure that program quality is superior in all parts of the country.
It costs roughly $1500 to facilitate one match per year in the traditional match program, and there are currently over 75 kids waiting to be matched with a positive role model. Let’s give them a hand by donating generously.

WE BELIEVE IN THE VALUE OF MENTORING.
Studies show that mentoring helps kids stay in school, avoid risky behavior such as bullying, and grow up having respect for family, peers, and community.
WE KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE.
Serving as role models, Traditional Match Mentors and ISM Mentors teach by example the importance of giving back, staying in school and having respect for family, peers and community.
Witnessing the transformation of a child into a confident, concerned and motive young person is a remarkable thing. Ushering them into adulthood, seeing them grow into a successful, responsible member of their community can be even more satisfying.
For both mentor and mentee, the experience becomes a life-changing relationship built on friendship, trust, and empowerment.
