Our Big Group Activities program acts as an innovative approach to serving youth and their families on our waitlist and matches. With an average wait-time of 1 + years, the project primarily targets our waitlisted youth by providing social, educational, cultural and creative based activities, while they wait for a 1:1 mentoring relationship. It will connect youth and families to supportive staff that aim to foster positive relationships and engagement during their journey through our services.
If you would like to volunteer with us but cannot make the commitment required for our Community or In School Mentoring Programs, becoming a BIG Group Activity Volunteer, might be a great fit. BIG Group Activity events occur 2-3 times each month, either in the evenings or on the weekends, for a couple of hours. You commitment is equal to what activities you can attend and when. You won’t be matched with one youth, instead you would spend time with youth waiting for a mentor, and having a ton of fun.
